Prof. Zhen-Ling Ji, a member of the founding board of the ICRCC and responsible for international relations of the club, hosted the 14th International Colorectal Cancer Club Meeting from December 6th to 8th in Nanjing, China. The meeting was well organized and conducted together with the meetings of 9th Symposium of Nanjing International Minimally Invasive Surgery, 3rd Chinese Microcirculation Society GI cancer Branch Meeting, 7th Jiangsu Hernia Society Annual Meeting, 2019 Sino-Deutsch Healthcare Seminar and 4th Zhongda Tribune General Surgery sub-Tribune, Southeast University.

The whole spectrum of treatment of colon and rectal cancer was covered over this 2 ½‑Day‑Meeting. Almost 500 participants listened to the lectures predominately given in English language. Lectures beside the host country China came from Germany, India, Japan, Russia and Turkey. Prof. Ji was able to gather many specialists from around the world in Nanjing. Beside keynote lectures of Hiroyuki Uetake, Tokyo, about “Tailoring multimodal treatment to colorectal liver metastases in Japan” and Wolfgang Dippold, Mainz, about “The update of palliative treatment for advanced colorectal cancer” and Jiang-Tao Li, Hangzhou, about “Surgical management of multiorgan metastases of colorectal cancer” the highlight of the meeting was the broadcast of two live operations, which were performed in the hospital of Yin Lu, Tongji University in Shanghai. The transmission was done using We Chat via smart phones.
In summary, the meeting in Nanjing was a great success with almost 500 participants. It covered again a vast area of problems about prevention, diagnosis, staging and treatment of colon and rectal cancer highlighted from many different areas of the world.

As president of the International Colorectal Cancer Club I would like to thank Prof. Ji and his local organizing committee for hosting and organizing such a great meeting.
